Heaven ... an inside view - Revelation 7:9-17

A man said to me one day, there’s so much about Revelation that I don’t understand. I said to him, it’s not the bits I don’t understand that bother me, it’s the bits I do understand. No matter how we look at this wonderful book, from cover to cover, it’s all about Jesus. And, when we talk about Jesus, our hearts are blessed, our lives are enriched; we realise we are on the winning team. We know that one day we will be with Him and, right here, in Revelation 7, we have an inside view of heaven. It’s a glimpse of glory. We come across a very familiar phrase in verse 9. There’s the ability of Christ to save men, to rescue them from the grip of the enemy, to pluck them as brands from the burning, there’s a mighty display of the grace of God in the lives of ordinary people, it’s an innumerable company, there are so many of them they are uncountable! There’s wonder-working power in the cleansing blood of Jesus.
The day of Pentecost was a memorable day. 3,000 saved on that single day alone! That was a stupendous victory, but it’s nothing compared to this. Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah, around one million people were saved, that’s nothing compared to this. Some three million people followed Moses out of the land of Egypt because they sheltered under the blood, that blows the mind, but this surpasses that by a long shot.
And there they are, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb; what a fantastic locale. They’re in the grandstand of glory, on the front row in heaven, they see the King in all His beauty. I can’t think of a better place to be!
Did you see where they have come from? John says they’re from all over the place, all around the world, from every nation, tribe, people and language.
