Bournemouth Branch Meetings - 2018 - 2019
Series Title: The Blessed Hope
The Blessed Hope is the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His true Church which is always imminent. Imminent means that the Lord could come at any moment for His Church. The Church has been waiting for 2000 years, even though the Apostle Paul thought it would occur in his day when he said “we which are alive and remain” expecting the rapture and resurrection of the Church as a Blessed Hope. It was imminent then and it is still imminent now.
There are no prophecies to be fulfilled as far as the Church is concerned. If there were prophecies to be fulfilled for the Church, Christ’s coming could not be imminent - any moment. Prophecies which remain to be fulfilled concern Israel and the Nations - not the Church.
When the Lord Jesus Christ said He was coming “quickly”, the word in Greek means “suddenly” rather than “soon”. When the rapture and resurrection come it indicates rapidity of action on the Lord’s part. He will act with swiftness, suddenness and will be unannounced.
Be ready, resolute and responsive to the message that He will come in a moment in the twinkling of an eye and when the trumpet sounds to call us up to meet the Lord in the air. 1 Corinthians 15:52.
