ILLUMINATION - REVELATION - INSPIRATION

There are those who seem to imagine that Premillennialism is a nineteenth century invention.

Here are Christian teachers who set out of the principal features of the prophetic programme, which others who followed would develop and refine.

• Justin Martyr (c.100-c.165)

• Irenaeus (c.130 - c.200)

• Hippolytus (c.170 - c.235)

• Cyprian (c. 200 - c.258)

• Victorinus (d.c.304)

We append the following list of names, (by no means complete), of Christian teachers who, like Paul, "have loved His appearing," believing it as an ever imminent event. These were people who were looking for Christ to come, not the Great Tribulation or the Millennium, but Christ Himself.

Barnabas (c.71): - said that "the true Sabbath is the one thousand years when Christ comes back to reign." 

Clement (96 AD): Bishop of Rome:- said "Let us every moment expect the kingdom of God, we know not the day."
