Prophetic Witness - July 2015The Path of Righteousness

by Pastor Andrew Robinson
"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the council of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! Bt his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water ...And in whatever he does, he prospers" (Psalm 1:1-3).
Blessing In Obedience
Psalm one paints a cut and dried picture in which the righteous prosper and the wicked perish, their respective attitudes to God’s law (Torah) determining their linal condition. The Psalm provides the reader with the familiar choice of two paths, one that leads to blessing, the other to destruction. The decision is in the hands of the individual. The blessing which opens Psalm one is in the plural and can be rendered, "O, the blessednesses of man" a most extravagant expression of blessing It can also be translated “bliss”, which captures something of the super-abundance of God's spiritual and material provision for those who follow His path. The Hebrew word for “blessed” is esher, which is derived from ashar, meaning to go or walk straight. There is a direct correlation in Scriptural teaching between uprightness and blessing, a principle enshrined in the Law of Moses. It is one of the prerequisites of the Christian life. To give just one example among many, Scripture commands us "to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments  that the LORD your God may bless you." (Deuteronomy 30:16).

Prophetic Witness - June 2013Governments Blown Off Course

Norman Clay

RELIGION: REVERED - RUINED. Continuing our study into end time matters, we noted in our previous article, that the removal of the true church of Jesus Christ from this earth will make a noticeable difference.

The Bible, makes it clear that during the present age in which we live, through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, our Lord is building His church. Despite the difficulties being faced, we can as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, have reason to lift our hearts in praise and worship. What we cannot ignore are the words of the Lord Himself that, alongside the true church, a false church is being built.

Nothing that the believers might wish to do can halt its progress or development. Behind the scene we are told is the hand of the arch enemy of Jesus Christ, the devil himself. He as the archenemy of our Lord will stop at nothing in his attempt to usurp the throne of God, attacking the church for good measure!

Prophetic Witness - June 2015Uncle Sam, Where Are You?

by Pastor Jon Ikin
It is said that Columbus discovered America. A lesser known fact, however, is that he also wrote a volume on eschatology called, “The Book of Prophecies”, published in 1501. How interesting that the man most closely associate with America’s beginnings was also interested in the end times! Yet that very connection, of America and prophecy, is one that puzzles many Bible scholars to this day. Just where is America in prophecy? And what does the Bible say about her future? As prophecy expert Tim La Haye has written, “One of the hardest things for American prophecy students to accept is that the United States is not clearly mentioned in Bible prophecy, yet our nation is the only superpower in the world today." It seems a puzzling mystery.

So why should we care?
This is not a subject which interests everyone, but it should. In fact, it should be of intense interest to all believers around the world, not just Americans. Let me give you four reasons why I believe this is true...

Prophetic Witness - May 2015The Vineyard of the Lord

by Pastor Andrew D. Robinson

Isaiah 5:1-7 is a prophetic parable in which Israel is portrayed as a well established vineyard. The prophet uses agricultural imagery to describe God's lavish provision for His people. No expense or effort has been spared to guarantee the richest of harvests: the premier position, the best soil, the choicest of vines, and a permanent winepress are graciously provided. Israel also enjoyed a double hedge of protection (v5), and dwelt secure in the land, in the knowledge that the LORD was in her midst, keeping watch over His beloved people by day and by night (v2; cp Psalm 121).

Prophetic Witness - April 2015Christ the Sovereign Saviour

by Dr Herbert Lockyer

Sovereign Grace

The first thing Jesus did when He got to His cross was to seek forgiveness or those who had placed Him on it. He interceded for pardon for His enemies by virtue of His blood now freely flowing.

What supreme magnanimity! How kingly and how kind! What triumph it was when, in spite of agony of body, He could yet realize the Fatherhood of God and plead for the forgiveness of a Fatherly heart as He died! In the morning of His life, even at the early age of twelve, His heart was warmed with the thought of a Father's love. And now, in the blackest hour of life, faith does not fail for He is still able to say, "Father" (Luke 23:34).

Do we reign with Christ in the matter of forgiveness? Are we tender-hearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven us? What is our attitude when others wrong us? Our participation in the forgiveness of the cross demands - that we forgive until seventy times seven.

Prophetic Witness - March 2015The Jews  And The Tribulation

by Dr Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum

Behold, the day of Jehovah comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger; to make the land a desolation, and to destroy the sinners thereof out of it. Isaiah 13:9.
This study concerns the program of the Tribulation as it relates to God’s program for the Jewish people. It will be introduced by quoting Deuteronomy 32:8—9: "When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the children of men, He set the bounds of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel. For Jehovah’s portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance.”
God has an overall prophetic program that is often subdivided into three distinct plans: first, God’s plan for the Church; secondly, His plan for the Gentile nations; and thirdly, His plan for the nation of Israel. But regardless of whether one speaks of God's plan for Israel, the Church, or the Gentile nations, all three center around the Jewish people. Moses writes that this is true to the extent that when God in His providence laid out what would become the boundaries of various nations, He somehow reckoned into that accounting the number of Jews who would play a role in that nation’s history. This means that when God mapped out what would become the borders of the United States of America, He somehow reckoned into His accounting the number of Jews who would play a part in American history: For Jehovah’s portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance.
In verse 8, God is referred to as the Most High. According to Genesis 14, whenever God is referred to as the Most High, He is emphasized as the possessor of the heavens and the earth. Since He is the possessor of this earth, He can subdivide this earth and give whatever portions He desires to whatever nations He chooses.

Prophetic Witness - February 2015What in the World is Happening?

by Brian D. Papworth

Last month we dealt with the situation in the Middle East and what is happening there. This month we need to look more at the Western nations. We believe that there will be a future world government, prophesied in the Bible, and due to manifest itself in the future. It will originate in Europe referred to as the "Woman on a Scarlet Beast" [Rev 17:3], it is undoubtedly the city of Rome as it refers to the Scarlet beast sitting on seven hills. There is one city notorious for being built on seven hills and that is Rome in Italy. Italy was a founder member of the European Union and it is also where the Roman Catholic Church has its base at the Vatican [Rev 17:9]. The foundation document of the European Union was called the "Treaty of Rome”.

Something or someone is slowly changing the world to their own ends. There is certainly every indication that a world government is on its way. These meetings of the G8, or G20 including all the heads of important global nations to meetings on world financial problems, rebels, global warming, word trade and all manner of things are beginning to form a type of global governing body. We are told in the Bible that the Antichrist or Beast of Revelation [Rev 13:1-10] and his right hand man the Beast out of the Earth or False Prophet [Rev 13:11-18] will manifest themselves in the latter days. There will be a world government, and a world universal church absorbing all religions and a unified monetary system.

Prophetic Witness - January 2015The Church and the Jews

by Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum

What It Has Cost The Church To Withhold The Gospel From The Jews.
By the forth century, Jewish evangelism effectively ceased. When Jewish evangelism ceased, the number of Jewish believers began to dwindle until they eventually disappeared from Church history. Only in the 1800s did the number of Jewish believers begin increasing again at a somewhat rapid rate, comparatively speaking.

But the failure of the Church to share the gospel with the Jews has led to four major problems: the Church has lost her balance, the Church has lost her blessings from God, the Church has lost her doctrinal unity, and the Church has lost her doctrinal purity.

Prophetic Witness - December 2014The Incarnation

by Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum

There are five main Passages of Scripture that deal with the Doctrine of the Incarnation.

The most extended Passage is John 1:1-14. Insofar as the Incarnation is concerned there are for key elements all spelt out in verses 1 and 14:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
