The Voice Said "Cry"

by Dr F. B. Meyer

The Origin Of Our Movement By Its Founder.

It was during a busy morning in the early autumn of 1917, that two ministers, one of them blind as to this world, but seeing clearly into the other, interviewed me. The one had brought the other that he might tell one the burden which was on his soul. In answer to my enquiry I learnt that the multiplying signs of the Lord’s near return demanded that “Behold the Bridegroom cometh” should ring out on the slumbrous air, and that an effort ought to be made to awake professing Christians to prepare themselves to meet Him. This led to a memorable breakfast meeting at 9am on Monday, October 15, 1917. It was the first of a sacred and happy series. We have experienced something of the blessedness of that earlier breakfast, which the Lord prepared on the shores of the lake with His own hands. Did He not also suggest that some whom He loved might be borne to a martyr‘s death, whilst others might tarry, if He so willed it, till He came?

A Little Dose Of History

by Shira Sorko-Ram

So history repeats itself. For the 50 years I have lived in Israel, every single new US president has made one of his top-priorities the goal of solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and bringing peace to the Middle East. And who doesn’t want peace? The Israeli people are desperate for peace. And I’m sure many Arab citizens also yearn for peace.
As President Donald Trump tries his hand at this ultimate peace deal, hopefully his advisers are supplying him with accurate briefs on the subject of "whose land is this?” Certainly, for every Bible believer, it is worth spending a few minutes to review the historical facts.

Angels Of The Apocalypse

by Alan G. Willis

The word used is the Greek word aggelos which according to my Greek-English lexicon (Liddell and Scott) means ’messenger’, but is given a fuller reference in J.H.Thayer’s Greek English Lexicon to include 'envoy’ and 'one who is sent'.
A group of angels ’fell’ following Satan's lead, and were ever after known as the 'fallen angels’, they will receive their reward in Revelation 20 where in verse 12 judgement was to be according to works. The Christians have already been judged :- Isaiah 44 verse 22 assures us that for those who are redeemed, their sins are ’blotted out’, it is as though these sins never were, whilst in Hebrews 8 verse 12 we are promised that 'their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more’, forgotten and forgiven; whilst in Revelation we find that their names are recorded in ’The Lamb's Book Of Life' which separates them from those who were never redeemed, and must stand trial at the Great White Throne Judgement when the ’Book of Life’ is opened and all of those who refused salvation must stand before the throne [Revelation 20 verse 12].

Prophetic Witness - August 2017

by Tony Pearce

In this month's issue read about the "SIGNS OF THE TIMES".

"Will the Rapture occur in September?"

Prophecy websites are full of articles claiming something big is about in September...

...We need to be cautious about all this. The rapture occurs at an unknown date and could happen at any time of the year (not just at the time of the Jewish Feast of Trumpets). All too often prophecy teachers have told of dramatic events about to happen on a specific date, deduced from their interpretation of scripture and events, only to be left disappointed and left looking silly after the event passes and nothing significant happens.

"Church of England Synod's sin offering."

"Pope Francis: World Government to save the poor."

"Church of Sweden to require pastors to perform same sex marriages."

"Teacher claiming the Left are brainwashing our children."

"Wild fires rip through southern Europe and North America."

"Tensions surround Qatar and the Gulf States."

Is Modern Israel of God or is it of man?

by Pastor Alan (A.B.) Robertson

In the Introduction, starting with Adam and Eve, we very briefly reviewed the history of mankind up and till the call of Abraham. The call of Abraham and the covenant God made with him
and his descendants is fundamental to the whole subject of "IS MODERN ISRAEL GOD'S IDEA OR MAN'S" and so we will begin by examining the main features of the "Covenant."
"Now the Lord had said to Abram: ’Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:1-3.
The Covenant became a "blood covenant” some years later when Abraham had another encounter with the Lord. It was at that time that God revealed to Abraham certain details about the future of his family and confirmed the borders of the land that He was giving to him and his descendants.

"To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates.” Genesis 15:18.
The Covenant clearly involved the following points:

A) Possession of the land of Canaan.
B) God’s blessing on those who blessed Abraham and his descendants.
C) God’s curses upon those who cursed Abraham and his descendants.
D) Finally through Abraham and his descendants all the world would be blessed.
But before we can proceed we need once more to return to the beginning for it is here that the story of God’s dealing with His Creation begins.

Prophetic Witness - June 2017

by John Ross Macduff

"Who also makes intercession for us.”— Romans 8:34.

"He who might have been placing a vial of wrath in the hand of every angel around His throne, with a commission to pour it out on this rebellious world until it was utterly consumed, is standing at the moment, at the altar of incense, presenting our prayers for mercy, and officiating there as our great High Priest" — Harris.
With the contemplation of every new Rock-cleft, the "treasures hidden in Christ" seem to grow upon us, not only in number and variety, but in value and preciousness.

PEACE and SAFETY for Israel

by David Howard Sudlow

God is faithful to all His covenant promises to Israel, the Church and His Creation. We look and pray for those promises and are quickened with faith, hope, and love. Great days are ahead in the fulfilling of the Gospel of the Kingdom. We can see God’s great covenant promises coming to pass for His firstborn Israel; therefore we are assured that our redemption is certain - the Lord’s coming is very near, "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” (1 Thess. 5: 2-3).

EU Catastrophe Heralds Jesus Is Coming

by David Howard Sudlow

The prophetic catastrophe unfolding in the EU along with the geopolitical events worldwide; especially the looming prophetic climax with Israel, all point to the imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We who love His appearing are called to live in that purifying Hope and prayerfully wait for the LORD to fulfill His Word before we can fully interpret it. Yet, the sure Word of prophecy for the ultimate end of the Church age is clear. The mature fulfilment of Christ’s Words telling of the signs of His return all point to His very near coming.

The Promise Of The Rapture

by Dr Ed Hindson

One of the most compelling and exciting prophetic events described in the Bible is the rapture at the Church. It is clearly taught in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, where the apostle Paul provides us with these details:

This we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words (verses 15-18).

From this passage of Scripture, we can see that there are five stages to the rapture:

by Samuel T. Carson

To even think of reinventing the wheel would be utter presumption, and yet it is a good thing for us to pause and ask a few questions of ourselves. What are we doing? Where are we headed? Are we, in fact, making any forward movement or are we like the proverbial door on its hinges, always on the move, back and forth, but never really getting anywhere?
