Armageddon Ahead!

Apocalyptic battle will be over the status of Jerusalem.
by Charles Gardner

In the wake of the worldwide denunciation of President Trump’s earth-shaking decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, nations are now queueing up to follow his lead.

And yet even while archaeological finds further confirm Jewish connection to the City over thousands of years, the UK and other major European powers stubbornly refuse to face reality.

In joining the predictable chorus of disapproval at the UN, the British people are in ever— increasing danger of being numbered among the goats of Judgment Day referred to by Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew (25:31-46).

This passage is widely interpreted to relate to how the peoples of the world have treated God’s chosen race — the "brothers and sisters” (in the flesh) of our Saviour, who was born the King of Israel (Matt 2:2) and is coming back as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (Rev 5:5).

Isaiah writes: "For the nation or kingdom that will not serve you will perish; it will be utterly ruined" (60:12; see also Mic 5:15).

A series of studies on our Statement of Belief
by Rev. Ian Macpherson
(late Editor of Prophetic Witness magazine).

"We believe in the total depravity of fallen human nature, rendering men subject to the wrath of God."
We shall think of man (1) Formed; (2) Deformed; (3) informed; (4) Conformed; and (5) Transformed. Consider the headings in that order:

According to Dr John Lightfoot, an eminent scholar of the seventeenth century, man was created at a quarter to nine on Saturday morning, October 23, 4004 BC. The timing is so precise that one might be pardoned for supposing that the good doctor had been present on the occasion. It goes without saying that he was not, and a point often missed in discussions of human origins is that, from the very nature of the case, we are bound to be totally dependent for any reliable information on the subject upon one Person — the Person who was there. We have really no option but to depend solely on the Word of God. Of this the Lord reminded Job when He addressed him out of the whirlwind: “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding" (Job 38:4).

Prophetic Witness - April 2018What Can The Righteous Do?

by Derek Lindley

... We are now living in a day when even unbelievers are noticing that everything that was nailed down is coming loose! There’s a whole lot of shakin' going on! Our cultural heritage is being rapidly dismantled by the removal of ancient boundary stones. God says, "Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your forefathers" (Proverbs 22:28). Brick by brick our Judeo-Christian culture - the way we do things - is being collapsed and removed to disappear into some politically correct landfill site.

Psalm 11
David asks a searching question in Psalm 11 v 3, "When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?” This is the psalm in which David realizes that flight is out of the question because his security is in God who is steadfast. He says, “In the Lord I take refuge (v.1 ) - - - The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord is on His holy throne (v.4) - - -  the Lord is righteous, He loves justice: upright men will see His face" (v7).

Why Does Salvation Require
The Cross?

by Philip Jones

At the very heart of the Gospel message lies the Cross. The Cross is not just an important part of the Gospel message, it is the essential part of it, because the message of the Cross explains the means by which God reconciles us (sinners) to Himself and saves us from the terrible judgement that would otherwise await us. Without the Cross, there is no Gospel at all (no good news), because there is no salvation. In view of its pivotal importance, you would expect that if there was one thing that the Church understood well, it would be the necessity and work of the Cross. We as Christians should know this subject intimately. But do we?

Jerusalem 1917

As Foretold In The Bible

by One For Israel

The atmosphere was electric as General Edmund Allenby dismounted his horse in humility, removed his hat in reverence, and entered the walls of the Old City through the Jaffa Gate, which hadn't been in use for many years.

Six hundred and seventy-three years of Muslim rule were over. Iconic footage shows Jewish people welcoming the general as if he was some kind of messiah, and the Land was never the same again. As time went on, Britain‘s ardor for a Jewish state quickly cooled, but the story of how this particular moment came about is one of breathtaking wonder.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ...His Real and Complete Humanity

by Rev. Glyn L. Taylor

The doctrine of the real humanity of Christ is no less important than the doctrine of His proper Deity. Human nature and divine nature, each in its reality and integrity, were essential to His Saviourhood and Mediatorship. The Belgic Confession of 1561 says "We confess that He is Very God and Very Man. Very God by His power to conquer death, Very Man that He might die."

- He expressly called Himself man. He said “The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost“ (Luke 19 verse 10). In these simple words we have His own concept of His Person, of His work, and of the world of mankind. He called Himself man.

- He is expressly called man—; By the prophets hundreds of years before He was born. Isaiah 53 verse 3 says “He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised and we esteemed Him not”.

The Voice Said "Cry"

by Dr F. B. Meyer

The Origin Of Our Movement By Its Founder.

It was during a busy morning in the early autumn of 1917, that two ministers, one of them blind as to this world, but seeing clearly into the other, interviewed me. The one had brought the other that he might tell one the burden which was on his soul. In answer to my enquiry I learnt that the multiplying signs of the Lord’s near return demanded that “Behold the Bridegroom cometh” should ring out on the slumbrous air, and that an effort ought to be made to awake professing Christians to prepare themselves to meet Him. This led to a memorable breakfast meeting at 9am on Monday, October 15, 1917. It was the first of a sacred and happy series. We have experienced something of the blessedness of that earlier breakfast, which the Lord prepared on the shores of the lake with His own hands. Did He not also suggest that some whom He loved might be borne to a martyr‘s death, whilst others might tarry, if He so willed it, till He came?

The Holy Land: Official Documents
& Fake News

A Little Dose Of History

by Shira Sorko-Ram

So history repeats itself. For the 50 years I have lived in Israel, every single new US president has made one of his top-priorities the goal of solving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and bringing peace to the Middle East. And who doesn’t want peace? The Israeli people are desperate for peace. And I’m sure many Arab citizens also yearn for peace.
As President Donald Trump tries his hand at this ultimate peace deal, hopefully his advisers are supplying him with accurate briefs on the subject of "whose land is this?” Certainly, for every Bible believer, it is worth spending a few minutes to review the historical facts.

Angels Of The Apocalypse

by Alan G. Willis

The word used is the Greek word aggelos which according to my Greek-English lexicon (Liddell and Scott) means ’messenger’, but is given a fuller reference in J.H.Thayer’s Greek English Lexicon to include 'envoy’ and 'one who is sent'.
A group of angels ’fell’ following Satan's lead, and were ever after known as the 'fallen angels’, they will receive their reward in Revelation 20 where in verse 12 judgement was to be according to works. The Christians have already been judged :- Isaiah 44 verse 22 assures us that for those who are redeemed, their sins are ’blotted out’, it is as though these sins never were, whilst in Hebrews 8 verse 12 we are promised that 'their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more’, forgotten and forgiven; whilst in Revelation we find that their names are recorded in ’The Lamb's Book Of Life' which separates them from those who were never redeemed, and must stand trial at the Great White Throne Judgement when the ’Book of Life’ is opened and all of those who refused salvation must stand before the throne [Revelation 20 verse 12].
