Bring Christ Back Into Christmas

Xmas or Christmas to which do we owe
This hurry and scurry and bustle so
Whence all the glitter, all the glee
Pray tell why a fairy crowns the well laden tree

Oh don't you remember the Bethlehem Inn
And the peace to the world that was brought by Him
No glittering light on the tree where He hung
But the thorns, and the nails, and the shame,
How they stung

But the hardest to bear was when on Him was laid
Our sin with its guilt and its penalty, He paid
So holy, so sinless, so willing to die,
So much He loved us, Oh why?…  Oh why?...
