Home Jan | Feb | Mar | April | May | June | July | Aug| Sept | Oct| Nov | Dec Powerpoint - November 2007It's official! >Our movement has now become a nonagenarian. Yes it was ninety years ago this month that Dr F.B. Meyer, together with a host of other spiritual giants of the day, including Campbell Morgan, Dinsdale Young, Stuart Holden, Webb-Peploe and others, set out a manifesto for the proclamation of the Lord's return. For nine decades that manifesto hasn't changed and it has been pursued with vigour, enthusiasm and hope. Believing as we do in the imminent return of Christ for His church, we have no idea how long it will be, but one thing is certain; this nonagenarian will not lie down. We will pursue our manifesto until He comes. Thinking about these things my mind centred on some of the afflictions that nonagenarian sometimes experience. SHORTSIGHTEDNESS. Failing eyesight is a common complaint with the elderly. Let us ensure that our vision as a movement is not impaired with the passage of time. F.B. Meyer and his contemporaries certainly did not lack vision - neither should we. LETHARGY.How true it is that we as humans tend to slow down with age. The vibrancy of youth often gives way to a lessening of enthusiasm and energy. Let it not be so with this nonagenarian. Rather, what we need is an acceleration of purpose. INCAPACITY.The greatest fear among the elderly is the inability to function as once they did. This need not be so for our movement. The tools at our disposal far surpass anything that F.B. Meyer and his contemporaries could have dreamt. All that is required from us is application. If you are a regular subscriber to PROPHETIC WITNESS you will have received two copies of this months magazine. This is not a mistake. We would ask you to carefully pray about who you should give the second copy to, in the hope that they too will become subscribers. please help us as we seek to expand our Vision. If you're able we would love to see you at our 90th Anniversary Rally in London later this month (see back cover). We thank you sincerely for all your support in the past both in prayer and giving - without it the nonagenarian would be severely disabled! We wish all our supporters and friends a happy ninetieth birthday. Maranatha.
