(James 5:7-8)"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first" (2 Thess. 2:3) The world is moving at remarkable speed towards that great day when Christ shall appear in the clouds to take those who are His to that great marriage supper of the Lamb. When we were at the Keswick Convention in July, these words from Thessalonians made me realise that the falling away was occurring now on two fronts: At a political level - our government and many others around the world are turning their backs upon God by blotting Him out of their laws and their daily lives. In Britain we see His Word being withdrawn from public places and laws changed to accept 'other faiths' at the expense of the Christian faith. We see Gods laws being taken away and man's depravity put in its place. At a Church level - it saddens me to see so many Christians who have no interest in the coming of their Saviour. As we gave out the Prophetic Witness magazine there when many who 'crossed by on the other side', they just didn't want to know. The Church or the whole has accepted 'replacement theology' and has rejected Israel as Gods chosen nation. In our Christian newspapers we read of what were once respected church leader: turning away from Christ's substitutionary death as the means of salvation, others to theories of annihilation instead of hell. The night is getting to its darkest point. Praise God! The dawn comes when the Light of the world will come again. Friends, we must be about our Father's business, we must be ready and watching, we must be about spreading the Gospel... with urgency!
